The Lake District Calvert Trust has been delivering outdoor activities for people with disabilities for almost 40 years. The centre provides a life-enhancing service to people affected by disability, be it sensory, learning or physical, we help break down barriers and enrich lives.
Our mission is to enable people with disabilities to achieve their potential through the challenge of adventurous activities in the countryside in order for them to develop, change perceptions and make positive and lasting changes to their lives.
Our provision is all-inclusive; we offer residential stays for individuals, family groups, specialist schools, accessible sports clubs & many charity groups. We provide everything a conventional outdoor education facility does – and add the specialist kit and experienced staff to ensure even the most profound disabilities are catered for, and that anything is possible! We include a wide range of exciting outdoor activities carefully adapted to enable all to take part: abseiling, archery, hand cycling, riding and sailing are just some of the opportunities we offer.
As a charity entirely dependent on non-government funding we are reliant on the generosity offered by those who believe in our cause. The Lake District Calvert Trust could not continue to offer these services or remain affordable to our visitors, without this support. For more information go to: www.calvertlakes.org.uk
